Valerie Kay Dumas

Seeking to infuse a tropical style into her abstract art, Valerie draws inspiration from her Floridian roots, as well as her time spent living abroad near the beaches of Antigua, Philippines, Jamaica and the South of France. Island colors.. bright and bold are her signature look that can be incorporated into any room of the house. Valerie also paints with hot wax making encaustic monotypes of beautiful coastal landscapes and colorful mermaid faces. Along with her paintings, she also makes one of a kind jewelry pieces that can be worn year round.

About Us

Valerie Kay Dumas

Abstract Artist

One of my favorite quotes from Ralph Waldo Emerson is “Live in the sunshine, swim the sea, drink the wild air.” Growing up in South Florida, I had plenty of all three!! Nowadays I am a Florida native who is landlocked in Newnan, Georgia (5 hours away from the nearest beach). Lately the colors of the coast are calling my name and I am compelled to put those colors onto canvas.

I am a self taught artist that started painting Encaustic landscapes back in 2005. These days my passion has been in abstract painting.. expressing my love of the sunshine, sea, and wild air through bright colors, and bold mark making.
